Meeting applicants where they are.

Some applicants are still in college. Others have been working for years and are ready for a change. Every meeting reviews your academic record, experience, and goals, and the focus shifts with how close you are to applying. Graduate applicants work one-on-one with Christine. The goal is a clear, honest picture of your candidacy and a plan that fits your life.

Christine Chapman-Fierz

Where are you right now?

Two years out to explore. One year out to prepare. This cycle to apply. Next cycle to reapply.

Pick a stage to see what that review covers.

Before we meet

Before a Profile Review, I ask applicants to provide:
  • A current résumé or CV
  • Undergraduate transcripts, plus any graduate coursework
  • Any test scores, including the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, or MCAT, or your plan to test
  • A list of programs you’re considering, if you have one
  • A draft personal statement or a writing sample you feel proud of
  • For medical school, a summary of clinical, research, and service experience
When applicable, applicants may also share documentation of learning differences so that I can better understand how they learn.
Together, these materials allow me to look at you as a whole: how you appear on paper, the path that brought you here, what you want next, and what your voice sounds like.

What you leave with

Questions answered and concerns alleviated, you will leave the Profile Review Meeting with a clear sense of purpose and direction. Depending on when we meet, that might mean a plan to build experience, a testing timeline, a balanced program list, or a strategy for this cycle’s applications.

The goal is not to chase rankings, but to help you find the programs that will move your life and career forward.

Where they started, and where they landed

A second cycle, four offers

Where she started

We worked together on college, and she landed at her first-choice school. Years later she came back after a disappointing first round of medical school applications.

What she built

She had what it took. What she needed was the right guidance. We went through the whole process again, together.

Where she landed

Four offers. She is happily attending UMass Chan Medical School.

Five for five, and her pick of the top

Where she started

We first worked together on her college applications. She chose a school many would call a safety, and went fully funded.

What she built

She made the most of those four years. When she knew she wanted to teach, she came back to begin her graduate school search with us.

Where she landed

Admitted to all five programs she applied to. She turned down Harvard to attend Teachers College, Columbia University.

Two ways to begin

Applicants can start with either meeting. Neither is required before the other, so choose the one that fits where you are.

Questions applicants ask

Who is a Graduate Profile Review for?

College students and working professionals considering a master’s program, law school, medical school, or an MBA, whether applying soon or a few years out.

Do I need to start with a First Inquiry Meeting?

No. The First Inquiry Meeting is a short conversation with Christine for applicants who want to talk through goals and options first. If you’re ready for a full review, book the one-hour Profile Review directly.

What should I submit before the meeting?

A résumé or CV, transcripts, any test scores or testing plans, a list of programs if you have one, and a draft statement or writing sample.

Do I need to have taken the GRE, GMAT, LSAT, or MCAT?

No. We can talk through which test fits your programs, when to take it, and what score range to aim for.

I’ve been out of school for years. Is that a problem?

Often it’s a strength. We talk about how to present your work experience and connect it to your reasons for going back.

Do you work with reapplicants?

Yes. We look closely at last cycle’s application and focus on what will make the next one stronger.

What will I leave the meeting with?

A clearer understanding of your candidacy, the programs that fit, and specific next steps on testing, experience, recommendations, and essays.
