YOURSELF

Writing Workshops

Two intensive series to help your student master the college essay
from personal statement to supplemental essays.

Live virtual workshops via Zoom | Expert guidance | Peer collaboration | Maximum 6 students per session

The college essay is different.

It isn't graded. It isn't limited to any one subject. And there's no rules for how you structure it.

That's what makes it so hard...and so important.

Your student might be asking themselves:

"What should I write about?"

"Where do I begin?"

"What if I'm not interesting?"

Or even: "Who am I?"

Chapman Education is here to help.

We have helped students get in:

Introducing

PACE

Our Exclusive Essay Framework

PACE is Chapman Education's proprietary framework for writing essays that resonate.

Every session, every exercise, every critique is designed around these four pillars:

P

PURPOSE
Know why you're writing—and why it matters. Every essay should serve a clear intention.

A

AUTHENTICITY
Write your truth, not what you think they want to hear. Admissions officers can spot a fake from a mile away.

C

CLARITY
Say what you mean. Cut the fluff. Every word should earn its place.

E

EMOTION
Make them feel something. The essays that get remembered are the ones that move people.

What You'll Accomplish in

5 Weeks

In both of these five-session series, students will:
  • Master the PACE framework for writing college essays

  • Read sample essays from our graduates who got into top schools

  • Give and receive essential feedback through structured peer critiques

  • Complete relevant, skill-strengthening writing exercises

  • Leave with solid drafts ready to polish and submit

Choose Your Workshop Series

We're offering two intensive series designed to run concurrently but work perfectly as standalone experiences.

Choose the one your student needs most—or take both.

Personal Statement

Intensive Series

Discover your hero story

The personal statement is an opportunity to show admissions counselors who you really are. It's a chance to write about something that matters to you, free of constraints, and tell your hero story.

We may not be able to tell you who you are, but we can ask you the right questions to inspire your story. We can guide you to the right beginning. We can offer a helping hand when you encounter a block. And we can fit you with the tools and skills you need to become the best writer you can be.

Supplemental Essay

Intensive Series

Master the art of "Why Us?"

How do you respond when colleges start asking,
"Why here?" or "Why Us?"

Supplements are not add-ons. They are like a conversation between a student and a specific institution. This is where a student learns to articulate fit, curiosity, contribution, direction, and voice.

In this workshop series, we break down every major category of supplemental essay. Build authentic, school-specific responses by the end of this workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can my student take both workshops?

Absolutely! The Personal Statement series runs on Tuesdays and the Supplemental Essay series runs on Thursdays, so there's no scheduling conflict. Taking both means your student will have solid drafts of their personal statement AND key supplemental essays.

What if we can't make all 5 sessions?

We designed these workshops to build on each other, so attendance at all sessions is strongly encouraged. If you know you'll miss a session, please let us know in advance and we can discuss options.

What grade level is this for?

These workshops are designed for high school juniors and seniors preparing for college applications. Juniors who want to get ahead and seniors working on their applications will both benefit.

What happens if minimum enrollment isn't met?

We require a minimum of 2 students to run each workshop. If we don't meet minimum enrollment, we'll reach out with options including rescheduling to our spring/summer sessions or a full refund.

Will you offer these workshops again?

Yes! We plan to offer both series again in late spring and early summer. Sign up now to get ahead, or join a future session if the timing works better.

Will these workshops be offered in-person?

These March sessions are virtual only. However, we're planning to offer PACE workshops in both live in-person and hybrid formats later in 2026.

Stay tuned!

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

Chapman Education does not offer refunds for workshop registrations. However, you may reschedule ONE TIME to:

- A different PACE workshop (switch from Personal Statement to Supplemental Essay or vice versa)

- A future PACE session (we offer these workshops in spring and summer)

- Another Chapman Education course

To request a reschedule, email [email protected] at least 7 days before your workshop starts. Reschedule requests made within 7 days of the start date will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Ready to help your student tell their story?

Spots are limited to 6 students per workshop. Register now to secure your place.

COMING SOON: In-Person & Hybrid Workshops

While these March workshops are virtual, we're planning to offer PACE workshops in both live in-person and hybrid formats later this year.
